Our enterprise
Mecfab is a business which services the pulp and paper industry established in 1975 by Jim Hamel.
In 1981, Mecfab transfers its facilities to Boucherville and now counts Canadian companies as well as some from Sweden and from Germany among its customers. In 1985, Mecfab takes again some expansion with the creation of a second facility next to the first. In it, Mecfab joins new companies to manufacture vacuum furnaces for thermal treatment as well as a system of laser vision for industrial robots. During the following years, Mecfab enters the market of aeronautics and cryogenic and involves itself in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
The company now dedicates itself solely to the pulp and paper industry. Its expertise touches mainly the wet part of the machine and specializes itself in headboxes, fourdriniers and presses.
Our highly skilled crews are often called on site for maintenance word on all kind of equipments.
In 2005, Lemieux Industrie takes over Mecfab and consolidates its position in the pulp and paper industry.
